I can't believe Christmas is already over and gone! Remember when you were little and the month of December crawled by at a snail's pace? As an adult, it feels like December has only been here for a week! Now, its almost January and my favorite holiday has been over for almost 4 days! *sigh* Well, the boys had a great Christmas. Jackson's favorite gifts were his Leapster and his Thomas at Action Canyon playset and he loved making his reindeer cookies for Santa. Grayson loves his Laugh-n-Learn Kitchen and Ball Popper thing. However, I am now stuck with the predicament of trying to find space to put all of the new toys, especially Jackson's huge train table! Agh! We really need a basement or extra room that could be used solely as a playroom. Hopefully, we can upgrade in the next year or two, but who knows?
Also, I am now 26. Woo-hoo! Yea, not really...ha! I don't feel a difference, so its all good! ...and I strongly believe that I can claim to be in my mid-twenties until I turn 28. Then, of course I will be in my late-twenties for two years, where-in I shall remain eternally 29! Sound like a plan? Peace-out!!

Party Time!
Well, I didn't get the Reading Specialist job. They went with someone who had student teaching experience, which I completely understand. They do want me to do my student teaching and then apply for a position as a Language Arts teacher in the 6th grade for this coming Fall. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do my student teaching or not, but we'll see!
Our boss is taking the whole office out for lunch today. We're leaving really soon, so I better hurry up! We're also doing our gift exchange, so that should be fun. I soooo did not use my imagination and just bought a gift card. However, I know it is something that someone will actually use!
This may be a little graphic, but Jackson has become quite curious about his "boys" that reside below his..."thing". He got really upset last night and told me that there were marbles in his pee-pee and he wanted them out. I told him that this was a talk for daddy and that I was not gonna get involved! Oh, the joy of having boys! I'm not really sure how daddy explained the "marbles" to his four-year old, but better him than me! I did give him one piece of advice though. I said, "Jackson I know you think that thing down there is really cool, but it's really not all that". Gotta jet off to the restaraunt now!! Much love!

Crazy Passwords, Christmas Craziness, and an Interview
Okay, so much for writing 4 times a week! Somehow my password got messed up, so I had to request that it be reset and then that got messed up! Ugh! But, here I am again. So, my work Christmas gift exchange is tomorrow and I still haven't bought my gift! ...that's not good! :) I'm thinking that I'll just get a gift card. I want to get something that someone will actually enjoy! Then, I need to get a guy's gift for Christmas at my Grandma and Grandpa's, a gift for my brother (probably and iTunes gift card), stocking stuffers, and a couple more things for the boys...then...I think I'll finally be done! phew! christmas is exhausting, but it is definitely my favorite time of the year.
So...I interviewd for a position as a Reading Specialist at the middle school in Dixon, MO on Friday. It went very, very well! I should here something today or tomorrow. It's going to be a quick process because they need the new person to start right after Christmas break, which is January 5th. Their only concern was that I had not done my student teaching yet. They asked if I would be willing to do my student teaching there with the former Reading Specialist, who had to retire due to illness. I would be willing, except that is 11 weeks of no pay, because it is illegal to pay a student teacher! So, I just have to hope that if it's meant to be, it will all work out perfectly. And, if it's not meant to be, I've prayed that they don't even offer it to me. Well, that's all for now!

The Wallace Family
Well, I meant to publish this picture with my last blog, but I forgot. Remember, I'm new at this! Ha! This was taken on Thanksgiving Day (11/27/2008).

The Dawning
So, I've decided that it's time for me to start blogging. I'm going to try to post something everyday, or at the very least, 3-4 times a week. I just want to keep everybody updated on my family's day to day life.
My family consists of my husband, Jeff, me (Lesley), and our two gorgeous boys, Jackson (4 1/2), and Grayson (1). We live in Rolla, MO, which is a small town of about 17,000 people. My husband works for a healthcare company, Apria, and I work for the University of Missouri system at Missouri University of Science and Technology. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in English and am working towards my Masters in Education. We go to church at APC of Rolla and are very involved in music (I play the keyboard and sing and Jeff plays the drums) as well as children's and youth ministries. There. That is just some basic background info.
So, Grayson had developed a bad rash after his one-year check-up shots last week. Agh! He was miserable! But, I'm happy to let you all know that it is going away and the little guys is doing much better. He's such a ham! He loves music and he starts shaking his little booty as soon as he hears any kind of music being played. Actually, all you have to do is say, "Shake it baby", and he starts grooving to his own tune! LOL!
Jackson woke up this morning, saw all of the ice outside (which looks like snow) and thought that it meant that Christmas had arrived. I thought that was adorable! He's going to be thoroughly devastated if it does not actually snow on Christmas Day!
Our office Christmas Open House is today, so there is a lot of bustle and hustle going on around me. All of the departments are invited for refreshments and visiting. So, I have to plaster a permanent smile on my face for the next few hours! Blah! Well, I think this is all I'm going to write for my first blog. I hope you all enjoy my future blogs and the infinite wisdom that I plan to bestow upon all that gaze upon them. Ha! Now, that's funny right there...I don't care who you are! Much love!
